President’s Reception and Joint Inauguration of Photo-Exhibition on Yoga 1. In his capacity as the President of the 68th World Health Assembly ,Hon’ble Minister Shri. J.P. Nadda hosted a Reception for Health Ministers attending the WHA on 19 May 2015. Prior to the Reception, Minister Nadda and H.E. Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General, WHO jointly inaugurated a photo exhibition “Yoga for All, Yoga for Health”to mark the adoption of a resolution by the UN General Assembly declaring June 21 as the International Day of Yoga. 2. 'Yoga for All, Yoga for Health' photographic exhibition has been curated by a renowned Indian historian Mr. BenoyBehl. 3. Minister Nadda in his remarks emphasised the need for WHO to take the lead role in coordinating and directing the collective efforts to promote and protect public health. He congratulated Director General Dr. Chan for her visionary leadership in steering the World Health Organization through challenging times. 4. The inauguration of Photo Exhibition was attended by over 200 persons, includingseveral Health Ministers and Heads of Delegation as well as Ambassadors/Permanent Representatives reflecting the ever increasing interest in Yoga and the belief in Yoga as a holistic system for achieving health and well-being. 5. This photo exhibition is a precursor to a special Yoga event that will take place on 21 June 2015 to celebrate the first observance of the International Day of Yoga. This event will be organised in the open terrace with in the prestigious premises of United Nations by the Permanent Mission of India in Geneva in collaboration with the United Nations, partnering with Art of Living Foundation, Isha foundation, Iyengar Yoga Institute & Indian Association in Geneva, among others. .*****
