On the occasion of the 70 years of India’s Independence and 100th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, ‘NAMASTE GENEVA’ a celebration of Indian culture, in partnership with World Intellectual Property Organization, Indian Associations in Geneva and Lausanne, Indian Diaspora and friends of India was successfully held at World Intellectual Property Organization Headquarters in Geneva on Saturday, 23rd September, 2017 from 1630 hrsto1930 hrs. The event showcased the rich cultural traditions of India as also the achievements of modern India. A record turnout of around 800 people, including Ambassadors & Permanent Representatives of various countries, Diplomats, International Civil Servants, Swiss nationals and members of Indian Diaspora, Indian students and friends of India attended the event and reception which followed.

The show included Indian classical dances – Bharatnatyam by OMKARA School of Indian dance, Geneva; Kathak by Ms. Amika Kushwaha, Canada; Odissi by Ms. Dipti Abhilasha, Zurich, Tabla recital by Maestro Cassius Khan, Canada; Kashmiri, Punjabi, Rajasthani and Gujarati folk & Bollywood dances by Ms. Stuti Aga & Ms. Veena Steiner and group from Nachle Dance Company, Zurich. Presentations by Heart for India Foundation, Science Projects by EPFL Students (Lausanne), Photo presentation by Dr. Sandeep De, and documentaries on Yoga, Saree, Indian Diaspora, etc. were well received by the large audience, one of the biggest to be witnessed at this venue in the recent past.
